Psychotherapy
We all have behavior developed in our early years that influence our relationships, our work, our sense of self. Often, these patterns create difficulties that can feel overwhelming as we move through the changes of life. Psychotherapy can bring relief from the pain caused by these emotional difficulties by taking a serious look at where you have been, where you are now, and where you hope to be.
Forming an honest, authentic connection with a therapist you trust allows you to face those experiences, emotions and past traumas that still haunt you today. It is a unique relationship that can assist you in changing your reactions and behavior outside the therapy room in your daily life.
I specialize in providing psychotherapy for:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Grief and Loss
- Life Transitions
- Relationships
- Addiction Recovery
- Trauma
- Creative Blocks
Individual Psychotherapy
I am here to help you explore feelings, beliefs, and behaviors and work through challenging or significant memories. I will help you identify parts of your life that are problematic, set specific goals, and provide guidance toward renewal and change.
People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. You may be in crisis, coping with major life transitions, or dealing with childhood trauma. Some are experiencing depression or anxiety or recovering from adult trauma. Others come to therapy desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge to improve their lives. All make the very brave decision to take a step toward health and happiness.
Couples Therapy
I provide counseling services for couples that are having difficulties in their relationship or considering divorce or separation. I can help you examine how your individual unconscious messages, beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors influence your relationship. Together, we can address any immediate problems or conflicts as well as offer strategies to strengthen and improve your relationship.
I also work with couples of all genders that are considering marriage or partnership and want to solidify their commitment to each other.
Family Therapy
In working with families, it is important to take into account the emotional, social and physical development of each family member. Each stage—infants, young children, adolescents, teens, young adults, adult children—can bring unique challenges to the family. They can damage family relationships and cause tension and disharmony in the home. Family therapy offers the opportunity to regain balance, understanding, and allows each member to be seen and heard with the help of an experienced mediator.
